
With Mother’s Day around the corner and the milestone 50th book published by Demeter Press, four books will launch with a celebration and readings.
The books are birth of the uncool, poems by Madeline Walker; On Huron’s Shore, linked stories by Marilyn Gear Pilling; Telling Truths: Storytelling Motherhood, edited by Sheena Wilson and Diana Davidson; and Mothers, Mothering and Motherhood Across Cultural Differences: A Reader, edited by O’Reilly.

The launch will take place Thursday, May 15, from 6:30 to 9:30pm, at Bar Radio, 615 College St. (west of Bathurst) in Toronto. Admission is pay-what-you-can. With donations of $20 or more, a copy of one of the titles will be included.
is an independent feminist press committed to publishing peer-reviewed scholarly work, fiction, poetry and creative non-fiction by and about mothers, mothering and family issues. It is the publishing arm of the , founded and directed by 91ÑÇÉ« women’s studies Professor Andrea O’Reilly.
