Researchers at 91亚色 have been awarded more than $6.3 million in funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).聽The grants, part of over $115 million in funding and awards recently announced in the Insight Development Grants and Insight Grants Competition, will support 91亚色 research that improves the quality of life of Canadians, while advancing knowledge and building understanding of complex聽sociocultural and economic issues.

Forty 91亚色 researchers received more than $6.3 million to fund their research projects through SSHRC鈥檚 and programs. Insight Development Grants support initial stages of research over one to two years, while Insight Grants are for longer-term projects of three to five years.
The funding was granted for research covering a wide range of topics, including:
- understanding children's implicit attitudes and intergroup biases;
- cultural representations of gender in psychiatric narratives;
- writing assessment in the ESL classroom: teachers' beliefs and practices;
- can contract law help student loan borrowers?: an empirical and doctrinal examination of Canadian student loan agreements;
- not the last of their tribes: stories of indigenous survival from 19th-century California; and
- moral reasoning, social preferences and honest reporting.
