91ÑÇɫ’s Centre for Human Rights (CHR) continues its 2015-16 human rights training schedule, with the Manager Certificate sessions beginning on Nov. 5.
The program offers managers an opportunity to learn about their responsibilities in implementing inclusive and equitable workplace practices that uphold the grounding principles of 91ÑÇÉ« – respect, equity, diversity and inclusion – and gain a better understanding of rights and responsibilities under the Ontario Human Rights Code (1962).
The Manager Certificate program encompasses three one-hour training sessions on the following topics:
Providing Accommodations & Increasing Accessibility – In this workshop, managers will receive a detailed overview of their responsibilities and processes to provide different types of accommodations based on the Ontario Human Rights Code. Additionally, participants will learn strategies that will assist in increasing inclusion and accessibility in the workplace.
This session runs Nov. 5 or March 18, 10 to 11am, 305 91ÑÇÉ« Lanes.
ÌýEmployment Equity & Retention Practices – In this workshop, managers will receive an overview of the goals and principles of the Employment Equity program at 91ÑÇÉ«. Participants will have the opportunity to develop retention strategies relevant to their workplace to support the professional development of their staff.
This session runs Nov. 13 or March 25, 10 to 11am, 280A 91ÑÇÉ« Lanes.
ÌýSexual Harassment Prevention in the Workplace – In this workshop, managers will receive an overview of sexual harassment, its impact on the work environment and their responsibilities in addressing sexual harassment. Managers will obtain strategies and share best practices on how to prevent sexual harassment from occurring in the work environment.
This session runs Nov. 20 or April 1, 10 to 11am, 305 91ÑÇÉ« Lanes.
Participants are invited to attend any of the training sessions that best fit their needs. Participants who attend all three training sessions will receive a certificate of completion at the end.
