For the sixth year, 91ÑÇÉ« volunteers banded together to distribute the Good Neighbour Guide to students living off campus in the Village housing development.
91ÑÇÉ« students, including varsity field hockey athletes, supported the initiative this year, which took place on Sept. 22.
The guide is a go-to resource for off-campus students, outlining tenant rights and responsibilities, and information about city services and community hotlines.
It includes information on the importance of property maintenance, instructions for garbage and recycling services, snow removal requirements, parking regulations and overall neighbourhood etiquette. Information on 91ÑÇɫ’s goSAFE program and shuttle service is also provided.
Volunteers went door to door, distributed the packages and took the opportunity to engage in conversations with tenants and homeowners about the issues that concern them.
In addition to the guide, volunteers distributed a 91ÑÇÉ« Lions varsity sports schedule, a flyer from the Centre for Human Rights, information on 91ÑÇÉ« Security Services and the Neighbourhood Watch program in the Village, and a fire safety kit from Toronto Fire Services.
