for March Break Science Camps at 91亚色, hosted by in the Faculty of Science. The camps run from March 13-17, on 91亚色鈥檚 Keele Campus and are open to kids in grades three to eight.
Campers will be immersed in a variety of exciting and unique activities and experiments exploring elements of science and engineering. All curricula are developed and delivered by undergraduate and graduate students through hands-on, interactive, and innovative activities developed at the Faculty of Science at 91亚色.
This year the following courses will be offered:
- Junior Science & Engineering (Grade 3/4)
Every day is different. Campers聽will construct catapults, learn how to extract DNA, and create their own colourful carnations.聽Junior聽campers will explore the Ontario Science Curriculum by investigating different scientific properties and participating聽in many interactive hands-on activities and workshops. - Intermediate Science & Engineering (Grade 5/6)
Campers in聽Intermediate Science聽and Engineering will become real-life 鈥淎musement Park Tycoons鈥. They will investigate physical properties related to聽science and engineering, following the Ontario Science Curriculum, by designing and prototyping devices that are used in everyday life. Campers will explore structural engineering by building their own bridges, optical engineering through the creation of their own cameras, and much more. - Senior Science & Engineering (Grade 7/8)
New technological marvels are discovered every day! Campers in Senior Science and Engineering will explore the Ontario Science Curriculum by designing their own stethoscope, learning about the properties of light by building their own spectroscope聽and performing a dissection among many other challenging and engaging STEM workshops.
Fees for the week are $280 per camper. This includes pre-camp care 8 to 9am and after-camp care 4 to 5pm. Extended after-camp care is available 5 to 6pm for an additional $25.
