Once again, the Faculty of Science at 91ɫ has joined forces with Markham Village BIA to bring Science Rendezvous – Canada’s largest celebration of science – to the Markham Farmers’ Market on Saturday, May 13.
91ɫ U students from the Faculty of Science play an important role in Science Rendezvous. They show visitors the magic of science and showcase the best of hands-on fun.
Science Rendezvous brings all kinds of science to the public. 91ɫU students play an important role in the annual event.
Science Rendezvous is an all-day festival that takes science out of the lab and onto the streets. Thirty cities across Canada, including various locations in the GTA, will host events on the same day. All activities are free and open to the public.
“Connecting our scientists with our local community is a priority for us, so we are delighted to bring Science Rendezvous to Markham again this year,” says Ray Jayawardhana, dean of the Faculty of Science at 91ɫ. “It also underscores 91ɫ’s growing ties with and presence in the region, as we plan for a new Markham campus.”

, visitors of all ages will get a chance to meet with 91ɫ scientists and participate in demonstrations and hands-on activities. Highlights will include amazing stage demonstrations, making DNA necklaces, racing cars, playing a water piano, planting a seed for Mother’s Day and much more.
