91ÑÇÉ« hosts event, call to action to eliminate racial discrimination

91ÑÇÉ«'s Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion (REI) will host a special event on Wednesday, March 21 to mark 2018's International Day for the Elimination of Discrimination, and focus on the theme of .

International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination The event brings together multi-sector panelists to discuss Canada's ongoing efforts to address racial discrimination in an environment complicated by rising populism and intolerance, and aligns with the United Nations 2018 international theme of "Promoting tolerance, inclusion, unity and respect for diversity in the context of combating racial discrimination."

Taking place from 11am to 1pm, the moderated session features four panelists with diverse professional and personal expertise engaging in a roundtable discussion. The format of the event will encourage participants to engage with Canadians approaching the nuanced, necessary conversation of sustainable anti-discrimination in an age where polarized opinions are the norm.

This event is free of charge and is open to all who are interested in participating in this important conversation.
