91ŃÇɫ’s collaborative and interdisciplinary vision research program – Vision: Science to Applications (VISTA) – will launch a series of videos produced in partnership with Research2Reality (R2R) to amplify the work of VISTA researchers.
The project is expected to feature more than 10 videos, as well as blog posts and an Instagram feature of VISTA researchers and graduate students in R2R’s “Meet the Researcher” series. Research2Reality shines a spotlight on world-class scientists engaged in innovative and leading-edge research in Canada.
Three videos in the 91ŃÇÉ« VISTA series features have been released to date, with more planned for release. The videos include:

91ŃÇɫ’s world class expertise in vision research was recognized by the government of Canada in 2016 with the nation’s most prestigious research grant. VISTA is supported by a $33.3-million Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF). The investment funds research across a wide range of applications of vision science, from basic visual function, to computer vision and object recognition, and more.
VISTA works to integrate the biological and computational vision research of five 91ŃÇÉ« faculties, five research centres, and over 50 partners to produce technologies that will help people live healthier, safer, and more productive lives. VISTA aims to be the world’s premier nexus for transdisciplinary, translational vision research.

Research2Reality was co-founded by Molly Shoichet from the University of Toronto, who is currently the first Chief scientist for Ontario. Shoichet co-founded R2R with award-winning film producer Mike MacMillan.
