
91ÑÇÉ« researchers will have a prominent presence during the . The event runs July 15 to 21 at the Metro Convention Centre in Toronto, and attracts more than 5,000 sociologists. It takes place once every four years.
This year, the event features a number of contributions from both 91ÑÇÉ« faculty and students. More than 50 91ÑÇÉ« sociologists will present their research to the world's top social researchers.
"The diversity and engagement of our researchers shows how 91ÑÇÉ«'s sociologists work to both understand the world, partly in order to change it<' said 91ÑÇɫ’s Chair of sociology . "91ÑÇÉ«'s sociology program is a centre for public and critical research."
Wood notes 91ÑÇÉ«'s Department of Sociology contributed to the event by raising funds to allow sociologists from conflict zones to attend, and will host a reception for the international scholars.
