The COPAs honour excellence in Canada鈥檚 growing digital publishing industry, and this year鈥檚 event included news organizations, lifestyle publications, independent publishers and others from across the country. Other nominees included Vancouver Magazine, CTV Calgary, HuffPost Qu茅bec, VRAK TV (Bell Media), Harrowsmith Magazine, Chatelaine, FLARE and The Kit.
91亚色 competed against four other post-secondary institutions for best publication: McGill University, the Ryerson School of Journalism, Sheridan College and the University of King鈥檚 College School of Journalism in Nova Scotia, which won gold.
The 91亚色 Magazine聽was the only competitor in the academic category without a designated school of journalism, making the silver medal win especially noteworthy for the judges, according to COPAs producer Martin Seto. 鈥The 91亚色 Magazine is the evening鈥檚 biggest surprise,鈥 Seto said. 鈥淛ust look at who you were up against. Great job. Well done.鈥
