Dedicated and longtime former 91ÑÇÉ« staff member Patricia Cates died on Jan. 20 at the age of 71.

Cates spent 40 years with 91ÑÇÉ« as a financial and administrative co-ordinator in the then Faculty of Arts, and after leaving that position, she continued to serve the University part-time by working in the alternate exam rooms for students with disabilities.
Cates was instrumental in leading the United Way campaign in the Faculty, which she did for 11 years at 91ÑÇÉ«. She was nominated for a President’s Award in recognition of her efforts.
She is survived by her sister, Noreen; her children, Andrew, Colin, and Christine; and her grandchildren, Julianna, Doiron, Perry, Graeme, Grayson and Zoey.
