91ÑÇÉ« President and Vice-Chancellor Rhonda L. Lenton issues this announcement to the University community:
I am pleased to announce that longtime educator, disability advocate and lawyer Marian MacGregor is returning to 91ÑÇÉ« in the role of executive director of the Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion.
Marian MacGregor
Marian returns to 91ÑÇÉ« after serving as an equity advisor with the Law Society of Ontario. Prior to this, she was interim director of 91ÑÇɫ’s Centre of Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion, and was director of Osgoode Hall Law School’s Community and Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP). She also founded the Disability Law Intensive.
Before joining Osgoode in 2008, Marian worked for 11 years in community legal clinics where she supported individuals with low income in diverse areas of law, including human rights, housing, social assistance and employment. She also worked as a human rights lawyer for the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative in India, advocating for the rights of prisoners and prison staff through the Police, Prisons & Human Rights program.
Marian received her BA from the University of Toronto, her LLB from the University of Windsor and her MA in Critical Disability Studies from 91ÑÇÉ«.
I am delighted to welcome Marian back to 91ÑÇÉ« in her new position as the executive director of the Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion and look forward to working with her as she undertakes this key leadership role within the University community.
