Dean's letter: Going digital has not shut doors

In this month’s 'Innovatus,' I’m excited toÌý²õ³ó²¹°ù±ðÌýsome of the groundbreaking work happening at the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS). As we near the one-year anniversary of moving to remote learning, I amÌýincredibly grateful to our extraordinary staff, faculty and students. They have shown innovation and creativity, while troubleshooting new and unexpected challenges.

In this issue you will learn more aboutÌýsome the remarkable work our teams have been focusing on, includingÌýthe development ofÌýnew, innovative waysÌý³Ù´ÇÌýapproachÌý±ð-±ô±ð²¹°ù²Ô¾±²Ô²µÌýthroug³óÌýdigital gamesÌýand experiences.Ìý

Our experiential education team is also hard at work, providingÌývirtual opportunities to students. Going digital has not shut doors, rather openedÌýnewÌýpossibilities. Learn more about some of the projects to help bring industry experts into the classroom.ÌýÌý

LA&PS has also launched our new Toolkit for Student Success.ÌýThis onlineÌýtoolkit givesÌýinstructorsÌýthe information they need to better help students struggling with academic or personal challenges. This toolkit places all the resources available to students in one spot –Ìýso our faculty can help direct them to supports they may need.Ìý

This last year has been challenging, but I am proud of the way our Faculty has continued to innovate and solve problems.Ìý
