The weekend of Feb. 26 to 28 was an exciting and impressive one for Osgoode Hall Law School on the advocacy competition front, with two teams taking first and second place at the virtual (CNNC).
JD students Valentina Galvis ChavesԻHarkamal Hehar were the first-place winners, and Jacob BennettԻAnthony Tulipano finished in second place. Osgoode will now move on to represent Canada at the International Negotiation Competition, which will take place virtually this summer. The CNNC winners from last year – Osgoode’s Alina ButtԻAbiramy Uthirakumaran – will also be invited to attend.
This year’s two teams were coached by a team from Dentons – Rachael Andrew,Jessica Hardy-Henry,Alessandro BozzelliԻJacob Yau – as a part of the valued partnership between the Osgoode Advocacy Society and Dentons, which launches each year with the internal Dentons Negotiation Cup in the fall. Supplemental coaching was provided by Osgoode alumni Karen MannԻAdam Voorberg.
“We are so proud of the students’ work and are grateful for Dentons’ partnership in coaching,” said Adjunct Professor Jean-Paul Bevilacqua, who is assistant director of the Winkler Institute for Dispute Resolution.
