
Forged during the first wave of the pandemic, the Moving Forward series out of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS) is bringing five new episodes for the winter term.
As with previous iterations of this highly popular series, each Moving Forward webinar continues to highlight one or more of the following themes:
- how students can move forward in their academic and career goals;
- how communities and organizations are moving forward on issues of equity and social justice; and
- how organizations are moving forward in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All are welcome to attend, registration is required. All webinars will be followed by a question-and-answer session with panellists and presenters.
Moving Forward schedule
The season鈥檚 first webinar is titled "No regrets: How my Liberal Arts degree Set me up for Success." Join the conversation virtually on Jan. 25 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Register at . The webinar panellists are Alessandro Colarossi, customer success manager, channel partner and agencies at Google; Angela Lawrence, chief culture officer at Gusto 54 Restaurant Group; Ayesha Shah, founder and managing director at C-Potential; and Domenic Di Paola, global head, risk and control at TD Securities. Each one of these leaders earned liberal arts degrees at 91亚色. Sean Kheraj, vice dean and associate dean of programs, (LA&PS) will be the host.
The second webinar in the series, "How our alumni are strengthening Black Communities," will take place Feb. 8 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Join 91亚色 graduates who are active in various initiatives addressing anti-Black racism and contributing positively to Black communities, families and students for a stimulating conversation that will be moderated by Michele Johnson, associate dean of students (LA&PS). "Thriving with my English Degree" is the title of the third installment in the winter Moving Forward series. It will take place on Feb. 17 from noon to 1 p.m. In this webinar, participants will hear from graduates of 91亚色鈥檚 Department of English who are currently in leadership roles. As part of International Women's Day events, the March 8 webinar is titled "Women in Leadership." It will run from noon to 1 p.m. and will feature women graduates from 91亚色 who are currently in leadership roles. The final webinar of the winter is titled "How Two Years of COVID is Impacting Canadian Real Estate." This webinar will take place on March 24 from noon to 1 p.m. Participants will hear from 91亚色 graduates who hold senior positions in the real estate industry as they discuss how the pandemic and other factors have altered the real estate market. More about the Moving Forward series
In September 2020, LA&PS launched Moving Forward. It invited students, alumni, faculty, staff and other friends of 91亚色 into meaningful conversations about how to 鈥渕ove forward鈥 in uncertain times.
