Toronto FC II announce 91ÑÇÉ« Lions stadium as home field for 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season

announced on April 4 that 91ÑÇÉ« Lions Stadium will be the official home field of the team for the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro season.

Toronto FC II (TFC II) will host New 91ÑÇÉ« City FC II on April 10 in their 2022 home opener at 91ÑÇÉ« Lions Stadium, with kick-off set for 1 p.m. ET.

The inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season will see TFC II compete in the Eastern Conference’s Northeast Division alongside New England Revolution II, New 91ÑÇÉ« City FC II, Philadelphia Union II and Rochester NY FC. The Young Reds will play 10 of their 12 regular season home matches at the 91ÑÇÉ« Lions Stadium and two matches at BMO Field, on April 30 against FC Cincinnati 2 and May 14 against New England Revolution II.

Originally built for the 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games, 91ÑÇÉ« Lions Stadium is a state-of-the-art LEED-certified sport and athletics complex located on the Keele Campus of 91ÑÇÉ«. In addition to hosting several track-and-field competitions, including the 2017 Invictus Games and 2017 North American Indigenous Games, 91ÑÇÉ« Lions Stadium is home to the 91ÑÇÉ« Lions (91ÑÇɫ’s varsity teams), the Toronto Arrows (Major League Rugby) and 91ÑÇÉ« United FC (Canadian Premier League). In 2021, the stadium’s original natural grass playing field was expanded in size and replaced with a FIFA Quality Pro Certified artificial turf surface, suitable for world-class sporting events.
