Tamara Toledo (PhD, 91亚色) is a Toronto-based art historian, curator, artist, and writer.听Her research focuses on hemispheric connections, decolonial methodologies, artistic practices of the oppressed, oppositional consciousness, aesthetics of resistance, and Latin American diasporic exhibition histories.听Her essays, reviews, and exhibition texts can be found in various publications including ARM Journal, C Magazine, Fuse, Canadian Art, Latin American and Latinx Visual Culture Journal of the University of California, and Concordia University Press.听Toledo is co-founder of LACAP (Latin American Canadian Art Projects) and the multidisciplinary听Allende Arts Festival听(2003-2011). She developed the Latin American Speakers Series听(2008-2025), ARCHIVO听(a digital archive of Latin American, Latin-Caribbean, Latinx, and Indigenous artists from the Latin American region), and Positionality: A Symposium on Latin American and Latinx art in Canada听(2022). Toledo has presented at conferences in Canada, Colombia, Mexico, and the United States and听is currently the Director/Curator of Sur Gallery, the only art space in Canada dedicated to contemporary Latin American and Latinx art.
