Sherif Shuaib is a PhD candidate in applied mathematics at 91亚色's Faculty of Science. He embarked on his academic journey at the Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria, where he earned a Bachelor of Technology in Mathematics/Computer Science in 2014. He later pursued his Master of Science in Applied Mathematics at the Prince of Songkla University, Thailand, completing it in 2020. During his time in Thailand, Sherif also contributed as an editor at the Publication Unit on the Pattani Campus of the same university.
Currently, he is delving into his PhD research focusing on the intricate effects of environmental stressors on species distribution and abundance. In his current research, titled "Predicting Adaptations of Fish and Fishing Communities to Rapid Climate Velocities in Canadian Waters," he explores the intricate interplay between fishing practices and climate velocity. His investigation centres on how these rapid climatic changes impact marine fish populations in terms of both abundance and spatial distribution. Additionally, he delves into how fishing communities adjust and adapt to evolving species habitats. A crucial dimension of his study underscores the essential incentives that simultaneously promote marine ecosystem conservation and ensure economic stability amidst the challenges of climate change.
