LA&PS has many programs that help improve access to post-secondary education.
Bridging Programs are designed to help support individuals who may be having more difficulty beginning or completing their university education. At this time there are 3 Bridging Programs available for students: 1) Bridging Program for IEPs, designed for those who have credentials granted abroad; 2) Bridging Program for Women, for female-identifying individuals who wish to explore the possibility of university level study; and 3) Sanctuary Scholars' Bridging Program, for those whose immigration status has prevented them from pursuing a degree.
The AYA Program is designed for youth ages 14-29 who are in or out of society care in Ontario. It aims to provide academic and social skills that may support their success in, and encourage them to pursue, post-secondary education.
Bridging Program for IEPs
We offer a number of specially designed bridging programs intended to support Newcomers to Canada with international credentials to transition into the Canadian workforce or to gain local professional accreditation.
Bridging Program for Women
For Ontario residents who identify as women and may need some extra support to confidently study at the University level, this program may be for you.
AYA Program
Designed for high school students with child welfare involvement to encourage them to pursue post-secondary education, the AYA program uses fun activities to teach skills like time management and problem solving.
Sanctuary Scholars' Bridging Program
This sensitively crafted program offers those with uncertain immigration statuses the opportunity to pursue a degree in an understanding environment.
