Students awarded at 2017 Undergraduate Research Fair

91亚色鈥檚 5th annual multidisciplinary Undergraduate Research Fair took place on March 1, 2017, with a showcase of undergraduate research work and art exhibits.

Students presented their projects in the form of poster sessions, presented simultaneously in a casual, marketplace-like environment.

Congratulations to the five students in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies who were awarded prizes.

Dr. James Wu Prize for best lower-year project

  • Second prize: Aria Kamal 
    for "The Feminization of Poverty: Why Women Experience Poverty After Divorce" (AP/SOSC 1700)

Dr. James Wu Prize for best upper-year project

  • Second prize: Danika Goshulak 
    for "Is Fair Trade 鈥楩air鈥 for All?" (AP/SOSC 4048)

Information Literacy Award

  • Second prize: Recheta Lieu 
    for "A Room of One鈥檚 Own: Exploring 鈥淗idden Poverty鈥 and Rooming Housing in the Village Neighbourhood at 91亚色" (AP/SOSC 3700)

Best poster & presentation award

  • First prize: Kay Angliss McDowell 
    for "Children鈥檚 Ability to Navigate Difference" (AP/HUMA 3962)
  • Second prize: Marina Kudrow 
    for "Defining Newcomer Parent Engagement" (AP/SOWK 3070)

Best group project

  • First prize: KajanthPalachchandran & Sinthi Mahendiran
         for "鈥淣eo-Terrorism鈥 in the Canadian Context: Exploring the Potential Implications of Bill C-51" (AP/HREQ 4600)

People's Choice
