LA&PS researchers receive $2 million in funding under SSHRC Insight and NSERC Discovery programs

Researchers from 91亚色鈥檚 Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS) have received $2 million in total funding from the (SSHRC) and (NSERC).

The SSHRC Insight program supports research excellence in the social sciences and humanities. With a faculty success rate of 52.4% and total funding of nearly $1.5 million, 11 projects have been announced as recipients of the 2021 SSHRC Insight Grant. This program funds research focused on building knowledge and understanding of people, societies, and the world. 2021-2022 initiatives supported by the program will help LA&PS researchers advance knowledge in critical areas of post-pandemic marginalization, healthcare policy and climate change.

The NSERC Discovery program offers foundational grants for researchers in natural sciences and engineering, to pursue curiosity-driven work leading to scientific advancements. With a Faculty success rate of 100% and total funding of $500,000, this year will see three LA&PS faculty members leading research innovations in science and information technology.
