Disaster & Emergency Management Associate Professor Eric Kennedy, from the School of Administrative Studies, will be leading a new project entitled 鈥淯nderstanding and Improving Wildfire Mitigation Partnerships with Local Governments.鈥漈he project has received $386,000 in funding from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) through its under the . The grant will be used to research the issues local governments face in wildfire mitigation practices and establish how these efforts can be scaled up. 91亚色 will collaborate with FireSmart Canada; the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources/Aviation, Forest Fires and Emergency Services; and Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction to complete this crucial and timely project.
