LA&PS alumni take centre stage at Canadian Screen Awards

Three Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies  alumni were recognized across multiple categories at Canada’s largest celebration of the screen-based industry, highlighting the versatility of a LA&PS degree across a wide range of creative and professional fields. 

The Canadian Screen Awards, presented by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, took place this week, celebrating the year’s best work in film, television and digital media. A number of 91ÑÇÉ« alumni were recognized for their achievements, with several graduates from LA&PS represented among both nominees and winners.  

Winners from the LA&PS alumni community included Afua Baah (BA ’13), who received the award for Best Local Reporter for CityNews Toronto, as well as Del Cowle (BA ’97) and Tracy Galvin (BA ’85), whose work on The 2025 Juno Awards  was honoured with the award for Best Live Entertainment Special.
