Nicole Amaral is an innovation leader working inside municipal government at a time when “business as usual” no longer applies. As Director of the Digital Kitchener Innovation Lab, she helps city teams experiment responsibly with AI, automation, and new ways of working—while operating within the constraints of public sector governance, risk, and trust.
With over 20 years of experience across communications, design, and digital delivery, Nicole brings a practical, people‑centred perspective on what it actually takes for municipalities to lead through disruption.
Outside of work, Nicole enjoys baking, creating, watching true crime, and spending time with her family and her three‑legged dog, Finn.
