TORONTO, May 31, 2017 – As part of Canada’s 150th national birthday celebrations, 91ɫ yesterday welcomed Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC) for a special citizenship ceremony for 40 new citizens. The day included roundtable discussions on what it means to be Canadian, with a special guest host: Global TV’s Alan Carter.

“91ɫ was very pleased to partner with the Institute for Canadian Citizenship and with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada to host this community citizenship ceremony and to celebrate our newest Canadians,” said Mamdouh Shoukri, President and Vice-Chancellor. “This celebration was particularly meaningful as it coincides with the marking of Canada’s 150th anniversary this year, providing an important opportunity to reflect on our own citizenship and how we can work together to preserve and strengthen all that we love about this remarkable country for future generations.”
