Video: 91亚色 home to Canada's top three business ethics researchers

91亚色 ranked first in Canada and seventh in the world in business ethics research among leading academic institutions, according to a recently published study on business ethics research.

Ushering the way for 91亚色 was Professor Mark Schwartz (right) of the School of Administrative Studies in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS), who was listed as the number one leading business ethics research scholar in Canada and 14th in the world.

The rankings identified the leading academic institutions and individual researchers from around the world based on the number of articles published in leading business ethics journals from 1999 to 2008.聽The rankings were based on a study titled "" published in the August 2010 issue of the聽Journal of Business Ethics.

The study found that over the past decade, 1,451 institutions from 67 different countries generated 4,200 leading business ethics journal articles written by 4,435 authors.

A number of other 91亚色 professors were identified in the study, including (ranked second in Canada, tied for 20th in the world) and (ranked third in Canada, 43rd in the world), both from the . Professor Darryl Reed of the Business & Society Program in LA&PS聽was also identified as being the second leading business ethics researcher at 91亚色.

In the interview below,聽Schwartz聽talks about business ethics.

Schwartz (BA 鈥87, MBA 鈥91, LLB 鈥91, PhD 鈥99) was the first person in Canada to graduate with a PhD specializing in the field of business ethics 鈥 under the supervision of Professor Emeritus who was the first appointed Gardiner Professor of Business Ethics at the Schulich School of Business. Cragg is currently the project director of the Canadian Business Ethics Research Network (), funded by the .

鈥淚鈥檓 proud of my individual research achievement, but I'm even more proud to be part of the 91亚色 research community, which clearly has a number of outstanding active researchers in the business ethics field,鈥 says Schwartz.

The other Canadian academic institutions that made it to the top-100 list include the University of Calgary (23rd), the University of Toronto (57th) and the University of Western Ontario (76th).
