The Economist magazine ranked the Kellogg-Schulich Executive MBA program number one in the world Friday in its first-ever survey of the globe鈥檚 top EMBA programs.
The Kellogg-Schulich EMBA program, based in Toronto, finished ahead of EMBA programs offered by a number of the world鈥檚 top business schools, including UCLA, Oxford, Chicago and IMD. In addition to the Kellogg-Schulich program, three of the top 10 EMBA programs in the world were business schools belonging to the Kellogg School of Management network: Kellogg-Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, ranked sixth; Kellogg-WHU Beisheim, based in Germany, ranked seventh; and Kellogg, based in Chicago and Miami, ranked eighth. According to The Economist, 鈥淧articipants on the Kellogg-Schulich programme gave the highest marks for the 
quality of their classmates as well as for faculty and facilities. It also came on top when alumni were asked the extent to which the programme helped them achieve their pre-MBA career goals.鈥

This is the first EMBA survey conducted by the prestigious business magazine. It has conducted an MBA ranking, using similar criteria, for more than a decade. The Economist is the only major business publication that rates business schools on criteria deemed most important to students and alumni 鈥 everything from diversity of career opportunities to earning potential and networking opportunities.
The Economist EMBA survey measured two broad categories: the personal development and educational experience of students and alumni, and career development. Within these categories, The Economist scored programs using 27 different criteria, including the quality and diversity of students, the quality of the faculty, the percentage of students who receive a promotion after they graduate and the average salary increase graduates can expect. The final scores are based on a mixture of student-reported salaries, student ratings and data provided by the schools.

The Kellogg-Schulich EMBA program was the first cross-border EMBA program in North America. Students are taught by some of the best faculty members from both Schulich and Kellogg, and have the option of taking electives at the Kellogg School of Management campuses in Chicago and Miami or at one of the Kellogg network partner schools in Hong Kong, Germany and Israel.
