Chengyuan Liang is a PhD Candidate in Science and Technology Studies at 91亚色. Her research explores how generative AI companies use and value copyrighted works and personal data across the United States, the European Union, China and Canada. Working across science and technology studies, digital governance and comparative policy analysis, she examines policy and legal questions related to privacy, copyright and data governance in generative AI. She is particularly interested in how privacy law and copyright law intersect and diverge across jurisdictions in the regulation of AI data practices.
