The annual Toronto Korean Speech Contest (TKSC) was held at the University of Toronto on March 26.

Eight students from the Korean Program at 91亚色 took home the top prizes in the competition. In total 46 students from nine different institutions including, Cornell University, McGill University, University of Alberta, University of British Columbia and the University of Toronto. The 91亚色 students participated in the beginner, intermediate and advanced categories winning for their outstanding performances in both language and presentation.
Four 91亚色 U students took home awards. Ruoran Ouyang won first place in the beginner鈥檚 category with her speech 鈥淩eply, my dear friend.鈥 She was among 22 contestants and earned a scholarship to take an intensive Korean language course at Kyunghee University in Seoul, Korea this summer. Also winning from 91亚色 are Mingzhe Wang, who won second place in the beginner鈥檚 category, Hilda-Matilda Idegwu, who won third place in the beginner鈥檚 category and Amal Khan, who won second place in the intermediate category.
Coaching the students were Professors Sungjo Kim and Sunho Ko under the supervision of Professors Mihyon Jeon and Ahrong Lee, who worked on the organizing committee for the event.
The TKSC is an annual event and is open to Korean language students from across North America. This year was the 10th anniversary of the competition.
