Lab2Market Validate is a four-month national program that equips research teams with the skills, funding, mentorship, and customer discovery experience needed to assess the commercial potential of their research. Each team, consisting of a graduate student and their faculty supervisor, receives $10,000 in funding to conduct a structured, evidence-based market validation process while developing the entrepreneurial skills needed to translate research into real-world impact.
As an academic partner, YSpace, a division of the Office of Research and Innovation at 91ÑÇÉ«, delivers the Ontario cohort of the Lab2Market Validate program in partnership with  a national initiative dedicated to helping graduate students and postdoctoral researchers explore entrepreneurial pathways and transform research discoveries into innovative products, services, and ventures that address real-world challenges.
