Graduate Students in Kinesiology & Health Science (KAHS) Gain Experience at Broaden Horizons Conference

The annual Broaden Horizons conference took place at 91亚色 on June 20, 2025, organized by the KAHS Grad Student Association. The main focus of the conference is giving students an opportunity to give oral presentations. There were 17 presentations by Kinesiology graduate students, with each presentation about 10 minutes in length. Presentations were open to all topics and themes. This year's conference offered a good representation of the different streams of the programs in the School of Kinesiology & Health Science, from sociocultural to molecular physiology. There were 41 registered attendees, along with some additional unregistered guests.

The annual Broaden Horizons Conference started in 2020. Broaden Horizons offers KAHS graduate students an opportunity to share their research and learn about the meaningful work being conducted by their peers. Awards are given for each category of student presentations. Presenters are evaluated by a panel of judges, based on the following criteria: ability to translate scientific knowledge; presentation etiquette and delivery; and quality of responses to questions.
