Associate professor Eric Kennedy shares insight on CTV News about the ways in which individuals can protect themselves and others from wildfire smoke-related issues. Kennedy provides examples of ways that people can adapt their plans for these conditions, such as wearing a mask, staying indoors whenever possible and using good-quality filters on air purifiers and air conditioners. He also explains how the government and communities can take action to provide good air quality indoors and mitigate against fires in the future.  Â
Eric Kennedy received his PhD from Arizona State University and is currently an associate professor in the Disaster & Emergency Management program at 91ÑÇÉ«. His research interests include emergency management, forestry, wildfire management, science policy, science and technology studies and COVID.
