After completing your required core and stream courses, you will complete your Specialized Honours Global Health BA or BSc with the Integrated Global Health Practicum, a culminating experiential learning opportunity that brings your learning into real world global health settings.
Practicum Placement Process

| March | If you are on track to meet practicum eligibility requirements, you will be invited to a mandatory Practicum Information Session and given access to the Global Health Practicum module on to apply for and track your practicum placement. |
| June | Practicum applications are due and must include: (1) a general interest questionnaire, (2) a résumé, (3) a statement of interest, and (4) two reference forms. |
| July to December | Students’ eligibility is confirmed. Accepted students are matched with a practicum opportunity. Practicum organizations interview students before confirming the match. Students also complete GH 4600 in the Fall term in preparation for the practicum. |
| January to April | Students complete their practicum and capstone courses. |
Practicum Eligibility
To be eligible for the Global Health Practicum, you must meet all of the following requirements by the end of the Fall term preceding your Winter term practicum placement:
- Completed all required core and stream courses based on year of program entry
- Registered in the BA or BSc Specialized Honours program with a declared a stream
- Maintained Honours standing (a minimum cGPA of 5.00)

Course Sequence and Timing
The practicum and capstone courses are taken in succession:

| September to December | In the Fall term preceding your placement, you will complete GH 4600 3.00 Practicum Professionalization Seminar, a pre-practicum course focused on professional preparation, including workplace readiness to support a successful practicum experience. |
| January to early April | You will begin your practicum in January, completing an 11-week, 250-hour placement (GH 4601 6.00 Global Health Practicum) in Canada or internationally under the supervision of both a practicum supervisor and course director. | Mid/Late April | Following the practicum, you will complete a two-week intensive Applied Global Health Research Capstone (GH 4602 3.00), where you share your practicum learning and project outcomes through presentations and student-facilitated seminars. |
