This study is led by activist-scholar, Project Director, Dr. Nick Mul茅, Professor of Social Work and Sexuality Studies at 91亚色. The project is co-led by Project Co-Director, Dr. Maryam Dilmaghani, Associate Professor of Economics in the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary鈥檚 University. The project research team is made up of 32 multidisciplinary academics at universities throughout Canada and the US. This project partners with 31 non-profit community-based organizations who work the frontline on 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion and/or poverty reduction. As the project is grounded in community-based research, a Community Advisory Board (CAB) of 2SLGBTQ+ people with lived experience in poverty is supporting the research process.

Maryam Dilmaghani
Maryam Dilmaghani (maryam.dilmaghani@smu.ca) joined Saint Mary鈥檚 in 2010. A full professor of economics, she holds a PhD in economics from McGill University and other degrees from Universit茅 de Montr茅al and Universit茅 de Montpellier, France. Maryam鈥檚 prolific research relates to economics of minorities, through sexual orientation, gender identity, and religion. Her scholarly contributions have appeared in high caliber economics and interdisciplinary journals. She is an active contributor to the Atlantic Research Group on Economics of Immigration, Aging and Diversity. She has also received several research grants for her ongoing projects from SSHRC.
