CURAC - College and University Retiree Associations of Canada

CURAC is the national organization of the postsecondary retirees' associations across Canada. It speaks for the collective on a variety of public policy issues. It provides a number of important services to its members, including an annual conference that highlights best practices among its member associations and promotes collaboration. YURA was among the founders of CURAC.

Johnson Insurance, now merged with belairdirect, offers excellent rates on travel and medical insurance for university retirees through its MEDOC program. The belairdirect Scholarship Program was launched May 15, 2024. This year, the program will offer 50 scholarships, each valued at $1,000 to eligible students who will be completing high school in 2024 and starting postsecondary education in Canada in fall 2024. Eligible students include the children and grandchildren of members of CURAC member associations, including YURA. The deadline for applications is July 31, 2024. Fred Fletcher honoured by CURAC

Fred Fletcher, who has made significant contributions to two retiree groups at 91��ɫ and has assumed key roles at the national level within CURAC has received the 2024 CURAC Tribute Award. The annual awards were announced at the 2024 Annual CURAC Conference, held at the University of Waterloo May 22 to 24. Retiree Information Sessions from RTO ERO

Many members of CURAC retiree associations have taken advantage of the opportunities provided by RTO ERO.

With more than 80,000 members across Canada, RTO ERO serves as an influential advocate and the largest national provider of non-profit group health insurance for education retirees. Its members come from the broader education community: from the early years, school boards, private schools, post-secondary institutions or any other capacity in education.
