Eligibility Requirements for Co-op Employers
Please review the following requirements to participate as an employer partner with 91ÑÇɫ’s Co-op Program.
Employers must:
- Provide a full-time co-op position (35-40 hours/week) for 4 months, 8 months or 12 months
- Provide a co-op work term that aligns with the standard university terms (i.e. Winter work term (Jan – Apr); Summer work term (May – Aug); Fall work term (Sept – Dec).
- Provide regular supervision and ongoing feedback to help the student learn
- Provide a safe and inclusive work environment (following all ESA requirements)
- Provide WSIB coverage for your student hire
- Provide paid employment (at least minimum wage per hour)
- Complete an online midterm consultation form
- Complete an online final work term evaluation
- Inform and consult with the Co-op Team from 91ÑÇÉ« if any issues start to arise (i.e. employers are obligated to work in partnership with the Co-op Team to address any challenges or barriers before deciding on punitive measures such as contract termination)
